Easement lines are often relative to a property boundary and so the original computer aided design (CAD) easements may have only showed the non-property boundary lines; this is an artifact of how the easement lines were created. The CAD data was imported into the City’s geographic information system (GIS), and used in combination with boundary lines to create the current easement polygon layer. This data layer was compiled with disparate King and Snohomish County data, and in-house review of recorded documents. The addition of new easements is ongoing and continues as part of the development process.
