Download each of the zip files from the Resources section above.2. Project the King County data to NAD_1983_StatePlane_Washington_North_FIPS_4601_Feet (it’s originally in HARN, so we need to convert it to match Bothell and Snohomish County’s data).3. Erase (using the Erase tool) the Snohomish County cities from the Snohomish County boundary, therefore separating unincorporated areas from incorporated areas.4. Create new feature class called OtherJurisdictions, that includes five fields (a, b and c will remain in final version, d and e will be deleted):a. JURISDICTION: text b. UpDt: date c. UpDtBy: text d. CITYNAME: text e. NAME: text5. Edit the empty OtherJurisdictions feature class.a. Select features in the new projected King County data and copy/paste into OtherJurisdictions.b. Select features in the new erased Snohomish County boundary data and copy/paste into OtherJurisdictions.c. Select features in the Snohomish County cities data and copy/paste into OtherJurisdictions.d. Select by attributes where CITYNAME = ‘King County’. Merge these features and edit the Jurisdiction field to ‘Unincorporated King County’.e. Select all the remaining features where CITYNAME is not Null and populate the Jurisdiction field using Field Calculator: !CITYNAME!f. Select all the remaining features where NAME is not Null and populate the Jurisdiction field using Field Calculator: !NAME!.title()g. Select the unincorporated area of Snohomish County and edit the Jurisdiction field to ‘Unincorporated Snohomish County’.h. All features in OtherJurisdictions should now have a city or unincorporated county designated for the Jurisdiction field. Double check to make sure the values in the Jurisdiction field are correct by referring to the CITYNAME and NAME fields.i. After confirming that values in the Jurisdiction field are correct, delete the CITYNAME and NAME fields.j. Delete the two polygons representing the Bothell city limits.k. If there are inconsistencies around the Bothell city limit, such as overlaps with OtherJurisdictions, run the Erase tool, erasing Bothell city limit areas from OtherJurisdictions. Then, delete all features in Other Jurisdictions and copy/paste all features from the Erase output (should be same number of features, just trimmed along Bothell city limit where there was overlap. l. Save edits and stop editing.
